DRAFT FOR A LAWYER TO REVIEW. Not final legal advice. Do not publish until reviewed (PLAN.md §11, item L9).
Takedown & Appeals
Two different processes live on this page, because they run in opposite directions: getting something taken down, and appealing something that was wrongly blocked or removed. Both are handled by a person, not routed back through the automated system that made the original call.
Requesting a takedown
Non-consensual intimate imagery of you. If you're 18 or older, go directly to StopNCII.org — it works independently of LAGOON and doesn't require us to act first. If you're under 18, or an adult concerned about content from when you were under 18, use NCMEC's Take It Down tool instead. Both let you generate a hash of the image on your own device; the image itself is never uploaded to us or to them. You can also email [email protected] directly.
Under the US federal TAKE IT DOWN Act (Public Law 119-12), a valid removal request for non-consensual intimate imagery gets a response within 48 hours — we honor this timeline regardless of where the requester is located, not only for US-based requests, because building two different response clocks for the same category of harm is a bad idea and TAKE IT DOWN's 48-hour standard is a reasonable one to hold ourselves to everywhere.
Copyright. See our DMCA Notice & Takedown Policy.
Anything else that should have been refused by our deny list but wasn't. Hit Report on the player, or go to /report — no account needed, and you don't have to describe which clip it was: we record what was actually airing at the moment you report it. You can also email [email protected] describing what you saw and when. See our Trust & Safety page for the full deny list.
Appealing a blocked prompt
If your prompt was refused and you think that was wrong, you can appeal. Tell us what you typed and why you think the refusal was a mistake. A person reads every appeal by hand — this is not routed back through the same automated filter that made the original call.
We commit to a response within [N] business days — the specific number has not been
set; this is a launch-blocking gap, not a placeholder for style. Whatever number is set
here must be one we can actually meet with a one-person Trust & Safety function, and it
should match the number published in the app's rejection microcopy
(brand/voice.md's "Moderation-appeal form" section) so nobody sees two different promises.
Appealing an account suspension
Email [email protected] with your account handle and the reason given for the suspension. We'll review and respond within the same window as a prompt appeal.
What we won't do
We won't ask you to justify why a piece of legal content should be allowed — under our Acceptable Use Policy, legal content is allowed by default and doesn't need a justification. An appeal exists to catch our own mistakes against our own published rules, not to relitigate what the rules should be.
